Parkinson Ready Program - Promotional Video
The Parkinson Ready program, led by the World Parkinson Coalition (WPC) in collaboration with Parkinson Society British Columbia and PD Avengers, is a groundbreaking initiative designed to help cities become more inclusive and supportive for individuals living with Parkinson's disease (PD). While the program has been a vital part of the triannual World Parkinson Congress (WPC) for years, this marks the first time it has been implemented independently in a city not hosting the congress.
The Parkinson Ready program addresses the unique challenges faced by people with PD by providing targeted training and resources to local businesses, service providers, and community members. The goal is to demystify Parkinson's, raise awareness, and foster a more empathetic and accessible environment for both residents and visitors. By expanding Parkinson Ready beyond the congress and bringing it directly to cities like Vancouver, the World Parkinson Coalition is taking a significant step toward global accessibility and inclusion.
The video captures the spirit of this initiative, showcasing the powerful impact of education, awareness, and community collaboration in building a city that is truly Parkinson Ready.
